Our week is off to its regular routines. We began letter A review today and will continue through letter E this week. During language arts time this week, we'll also focus on nursery rhymes and concepts of print. We also opened Math Unit 1. Unit 1 focuses on counting objects from 1-5. The kids got to meet our Big Buddies (Mrs. Deem's 4th graders) and work on some writing and drawing with them. We meet with them every Monday throughout the year.
This week I sent home the purple weekly folder. For the next three weeks, please use the flashcards I included to practice letters and numbers nightly with your child. Your child only received flashcards for letter and numbers he or she struggled with. If you don't have too many flashcards, go ahead and read nightly. This week the students begin their rotations in Innovation Alley. They visit Innovation Alley once a week on Tuesdays. They participate in 5 classes; art, music, libary, STEM, and environmental sciences. They are going to love it! This Wednesday will be the first day parents and students say goodbye at the gate. You child will enter school and be taken to the playground immediately after saying good bye. It actually makes for an easier transition in the morning. Thanks for your help in quick kisses and hugs. Finally, thank you so much for the incredible amount of supplies sent in over the last two weeks for the classroom! The kids and I are so appreciative!! Have a great week, Tami Pence Comments are closed.
