That's right! Yesterday the DC 12 teachers were here so we are wheeling through Innovation Alley today instead of yesterday. Next week we will be back to our regular Tuesday rotations.
This week we are learning about plane and solid shapes. We are focusing on a review of all consonant and vowels sounds. Our writing is about similarities and differences between two animals which will help us write our opinion papers.
Please remember to turn in your coffee and tea themed donations to the Kindergarten grade level auction basket. We really appreciate it! Dinky Donkey came to visit us today and tell us all about the upcoming Fair. The kids received a free tickets booklet for you to complete at home.
This week we are working on the vowels and particularly /E/. We are finishing up composing and decomposing numbers. Our writing focus will be on comparisons of animals as we lead into an opinion piece.
For Music on the Green, Kindergarten is responsible for creating a Coffee and Tea themed auction basket. Please send any coffee/tea themed donations for the basket as soon as possible. This Thursday, the San Diego County Fair will visit the kindergarteners and show and tell about what they can expect to see at the fair. Animals are so fun to visit with! The kids had a fabulous time at our Egg Hunt this morning. Thank you for all of the donations. They are bringing their eggs and lots of artwork home today. Happy Easter to your families!
We are so excited to show off all of our school's hard work at our Leader In Me Open House tomorrow. Please wear your Temple Heights Spirit wear or blue and silver school colors. Open House will be from 6:00-7:00pm. We look forward to seeing you there.
Please wear your Temple Heights Spirit clothes or blue and silver colors this Thursday!
This week is super exciting! We have our Open House on Thursday from 6:00-7:00pm.
Our Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be on this Friday. We have 24 eggs donated so far. Please send any other donations in as soon as possible. The kids will be attending the book fair tomorrow during their library time. Please send money in a ziploc bag or envelope if you would like your child to make purchases. Thanks to all of the families who signed up to read to the class. If you have not had the chance to sign up online, I have included the link on the PARENTS page of this site.
Also thank you for the hard work at home on the flashcards that I sent home with the report cards. The kids are just amazing me with their quick reading of the sight words. You all deserve Gold Stars!!! This Friday Night! This free event is from 5:00pm-7:30pm.
Please bring cash for the Food Trucks from all over the world. You can also buy a $5 passport for family booths, crafts, bingo, loteria, etc. Enjoy presentations by Dancing Cloud Drums and RBV Ballet Folklorico. There will even be a watermelon eating contest. Would you be interested in being more involved in the PTA next school? There is a PTA meeting you can attend tonight at 6:00 in the staff lounge. You can also let me know and I can pass your name on to Mrs. Morton.
Welcome back! This week we are working on Letter/Sound /K/ and lots more independent writing. We are super focused on practicing our sight words. I sent home individual flashcards before Spring Break which included only the words that your child missed on the assessment. Please review those daily. This week we are finishing our addition and subtraction.
Our Open House will be in just two short weeks on the evening of April 13. The kids will have lots to share on the walls, in their writing folders, and Adobe Video and iMovie projects. We hope to see you there. Our Kindergarten Egg Hunt is scheduled for Friday, April 14 at 1:30. We would appreciate donations of filled eggs for the hunt. You can drop them off anytime between now and then. Our supplies are starting to run out. We would love classroom donations of new Crayola markers, glue sticks, iquid glue bottles, and Ticonderoga Brand #2 pencils (the big kid kind). Thanks! |
