8:00-8:30 Halloween Costume Parade
8:30-9:00 Boo Fest - Singing in Mrs. Pence's Class 10:15-12:15 Kindergarten Halloween Theme Day Kids can wear their costumes or have clothing underneath they can wear after the parade. Please DO NOT send weapons or costume accessories. Tomorrow is Freaky Friday. All of the festivities will begin in the late afternoon. DO NOT WEAR YOUR COSTUME TO SCHOOL! Tomorrow's Spirit Day is School Pride Day.
We will wear costumes on MONDAY! This week we are working on Letter S. Our word of the week is "OF" and we are counting items up to 20 as well as discussing greater than and lesser than. We continue to practice writing and labeling both words and numbers. I am very excited to share so much academic success at the upcoming conferences.
This week is Red Ribbon week is October 24th-28th. Spirit days will be: Monday (10/24): Crazy Hair Day Tuesday(10/25): Crazy Sock Day Wednesday(10/26): Sports Day Thursday(10/27): Twin Day Friday (10/28): School Spirit Day We would appreciate the following donations for our Freaky Friday Carnival this Friday: Kindergarten: Pumpkins (real pumpkins, any size) We have so much to share!!!

I look forward to talking with you next month. October 28 Freaky Friday - Kindergarten has been assigned the donations of pumpkins. Please send in real pumpkins of any size. October 31 Shenanigans 8:15 - Costume Parade (no blood or weapons) Immediately following the parade is Mrs. Pence's Boo Bash in our classroom. 10:45 - 12.30 Kindergarten Fall Theme Day. If you would like to volunteer to rotate with our classroom, please let me know. A+ Teeth Dental Program paperwork came home in the backpacks today. Please sign and return as soon as possible if you would like your child to participate. Parents are invited to join us for an informal Halloween Performance on Monday, October 31 immediately following the Costume Parade. We will sing Halloween and Autumn songs for you in our classroom. We hope you can make it!
The Fourth Graders are collecting new socks this month. If you have any donations, please send them in with your children.
This week we are working on the short and long sound of Letter A. Please send in any print that contains the letter A. Words off of a cake box, cereal box, and magazine with sent in with the letter M last week. Thanks for your participation! Our word of the week is AND. We will continue to write pictures and label with words and sentences. In math, we are starting to understand the concept of more than and less than when comparing numbers 1-10.
We are starting Otter Pop Friday this week. This is a fundraiser for Kindergarten Theme Days. We use the money to purchase supplies for those activities. The donation is $2 per month, If you would like to donate $15 for the entire year at once, that would be very appreciated. All families are invited to come watch our Temple Heights Costume Parade at 8:00am on October 31. After the parade, you are invited to listen to our Halloween Songs Presentation in our classroom. We have 5 songs we would love to present to you. We will not be having a party as the day will be party enough, however, we would love mini water bottle, capri sun, or juice box donations for our 26 students. Kindergarten October Theme Day will also be on October 31. Theme Day will be from 10:30-12:30. If you would like to volunteer to help, please let me know. What's that white stuff on my child's foot? Our awesome Wednesday parent helper painted your kids' foot for me today. Don't worry it washes off with water. The spooky ghosts will come home at the end of the month... just in time to help you decorate for Halloween.
We also had our 3rd Watch D.O.G. visit of the year!!!! All Dads, Grandpas, and Uncles are invited to volunteer their time as a Temple Heights Watch D.O.G. (Dads Of Great kids). The kids love it and playground noon duties really appreciate it. Today the K-2 teachers participated in an inservice in the MPR. The kids had guest teachers who introduced them to engineering, keyboarding, public speaking, and Minecraft.
This week we are working on Letter M and its sound. You will see a HOME HELP journal in their Friday Folder. Please have them practice writing at least one row of Ms a day. They can also draw pictures of things that start with M and label the pictures. Please only complete Letter M. Kids are also invited to cut out any words with the letter M they see around the house (example: macaroni and cheese box, marshmellow label). Our word of the week is "AND".
In math we will be working on counting and drawing to 10. We will also continue to reinforce the concept of less than and greater than. This Wednesday all money and orders for the Fall Fundraiser are due! Thanks to all of the parents who are participating. Coffee Talk with the Principal is also this Wednesday. Make Up picture day will be this Friday. I still need more paper plates and gallon sized ziploc bags. We use the paper plates for weekly letter sound activities and go through the ziploc bags like crazy. Thanks for the donations already sent in. |
